and share these with the CHS community.  Contact details can be found on our church website at:  http://www.thechs.org/

Opening Hymn of Praise As Morning Dawns and Evening Fades (Your Name)  (MP1152)

1  As morning dawns and evening fades,
You inspire songs of praise
that rise from earth to touch Your heart,
and glorify Your name.
        Your name is a strong and mighty tower.
Your name is a shelter like no other.
Your name, let the nations sing it louder,
’cause nothing has the power to save
but Your name.

2  Jesus, in Your name we pray,
come and fill our hearts today.
Lord, give us strength to live for You
and glorify Your name.
Your name . . .

Your name . . .

ConfessionOur heavenly Fatherthank you that you love us and care for us all the time.We know that this week we have not always lived the way you tell us.We have done wrong things and not done all the good things we should have done.Only you can save us,so please forgive usand help us to live as your friends.We ask this in Jesus’ name.Amen
Silence
Living God,
we name You as immortal,
the Alpha and Omega of our creation,
the eternal living presence.
And now in our prayers, the immortal touches the human;
eternity dips into time,
and we are transported into Your nearer presence,
aware of Your greatness in this very place.

And we presume, now, when we choose,
at a time that is right of us,
that You will listen, be available to us, and hear our prayers.
What right have we to call on You when it suits us?
And yet, You bid us come.
You are ready to listen.
You will us to enter Your courts.
You smile upon us in welcome when You see us arrive.

You are our God.

And, because of all of this, we come tentatively into Your presence –
in awe of Your justice;
wondering whether we are worthy;
questioning whether we deserve to be here.
Yet You bid us come;
You call us to confess;
You wait till we bow down;
You expect our penitence.
And then You say, stand up, my friend.
Come closer.
You are forgiven.
You need fear no more.

Unchanging God,
we name You now as our life-giver,
who, with grace and mercy, shows You believe in us,
You need us, You want us to serve.
Take us now;
free us from all reticence;
call us by name;
welcome us home ...

These prayers we bring You,
in and through the name of Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Amen.

CreedWe believe in God the Father,                 Maker of all things.We believe in his Son Jesus Christ,Lord and Saviour of the world.We believe in the Holy Spirit,giver of life and light.    We belong to the Church,God’s family everywhere.Amen.

Children’s Song
My Hope is built on nothing less (Cornerstone)
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' name
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus' name
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior's love
Through the storm
He is Lord
Lord of all

When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior's love
Through the storm
He is Lord
Lord of all
He is Lord

Lord of all, Christ alone
Christ alone, Cornerstone
Weak made strong in the Savior's love
Through the storm
He is Lord…

Prayer for / with the Children

Open your hands and look at them.
Father God, we thank you that our hands
are a gift from you. Thank you that we
can use them to clasp someone’s hand in
friendship… that we can use our hands to
give and receive… that we can use our hands
in praise and worship…

Thank you for your gifts this day,
Gifts to use and give away.
Take our hearts and lives we pray

Look down at your feet.
Father God, we thank you that our feet are
a gift from you. Thank you that we can use
them to come to church… that we can tap
our feet or dance to the rhythm of the songs
of worship… that we can use our feet to
visit others or run errands for them…

Thank you for your gifts this day,
Gifts to use and give away.
Take our hearts and lives we pray

Feel your head with both hands.
Father God, we thank you that our heads
are a gift from you. Thank you that we have
brains to learn about you and know you…
that we can think of good ideas for serving
and inspiring others… that we have ears to
listen to other people and mouths to speak
about you and sing your praise…

Thank you for your gifts this day,
Gifts to use and give away.
Take our hearts and lives we pray

Hug yourself.
Father God, we thank you that our bodies
are a gift from you. Thank you that we can
serve you with our whole body and love you
with our whole heart...

Thank you for your gifts this day,
Gifts to use and give away.
Take our hearts and lives we pray

Amen. Sermon

SongFairest Lord Jesus (MP823)
1  Fairest Lord Jesus, Lord of all creation,
Jesus, of God and man the Son;
You will I cherish, You will I honour,
You are my soul’s delight and crown.

2  Fair are the rivers, meadows and forests
clothed in the fresh green robes of spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
He makes the saddest heart to sing.

3  Fair is the sunrise; starlight and moonlight
spreading their glory across the sky;
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines clearer
than all the heavenly host on high.

4  All fairest beauty, heavenly and earthly,
Jesus, my Lord, in You I see;
none can be nearer, fairer or dearer
than You, my Saviour, are to me.

Offering(Please do bear in mind that as long as we are still able to, CHS is continuing to support various projects and people in need and needs will likely increase during this time. You may want to set aside some money in an envelope every Sunday and bring these to church when we next meet back at ARDA.)

Dedication of our OfferingGod of all goodness,
accept the gifts we bring.
Use them and us for your glory
and the work of your church;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen. Thanksgiving and Intercessions

Listening God,
You call us to come to You with our prayers for others.
And we do so in a spirit of gratitude
for all the ways Your grace and mercy fills our lives ...

We thank You for creation,
and for all the blessings of this life,
and, most of all, for Your boundless love in the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
our redeeming presence.
Give us a constant awareness of Your mercy.
Call us to take time to immerse ourselves in Your grace.
Make as aware of signs and symbols of Your love in action.

Loving God,
in Jesus Christ You taught us to pray
and to offer petitions to You in His name.
Guide us by Your Holy Spirit
that our prayers for others may serve Your will.
You made all things in Your wisdom,
and, in Your love, You save us.
So we pray for all creation,
that evil powers might be cast down,
that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness might be fed,
and that all Your children might enjoy in equal measure the fruits of Your world.

We pray for the Church.
Keep us one in faith and service,
so that Your Good News might be proclaimed,
and so that Your love and light might be a beacons of hope and purpose
in the darkest places.
We cannot love You fully unless we love our neighbours as ourselves.
So we pray for our enemies and our friends;
we pray for all those in need, in body, mind and spirit;
we pray for all who suffer from pain and sorrow;
especially any known to us whom we name before You now ...

(Silence)

God of compassion,
bless us and those we love, that,
drawing close to You,
we may be drawn closer to each other.
And hold us always in communion with the Saints of all the ages,
especially those dear to us,
in the one Kingdom of Your love
In Jesus’ name we pray
Amen

Lord’s PrayerOur Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven.Give us today our daily bread.Forgive us our sins as we forgive thosewho sin against us.Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yoursnow and for ever.Amen.

Closing SongBe Thou My Vision (MP51)
1  Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
naught be all else to me, save that Thou art –
Thou my best thought, by day or by night,
waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

2  Be Thou my wisdom, Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee, Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

3  Be Thou my battle-shield, sword for the fight,
be Thou my dignity, Thou my delight.
Thou my soul’s shelter, Thou my high tower:
raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

4  Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure Thou art.

5  High King of heaven, after victory won,
may I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
still be my vision, O ruler of all.
 Prayer of Sending and Blessing
Go out into the world in peace.
Love your God with all your heart.
Be challenged by the Spirit’s promptings.
Hear the call to serve Christ
and be obedient to God’s will.

And may God bless you,
and the Spirit restore you,
and Christ’s presence strengthen you,
now and always
Amen.
Go in peace to love and serve the Lord,in the name of Christ.Amen
