Scripture Sentence
"Can you fathom the mystery of God, or
attain to the limits of the Almighty?"
                                              (Job 11: 7)

The Collect

Almighty and eternal God,
through your Word and Spirit
you created all things.
In Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh,
you reveal your salvation
in all the world.
Through your Holy Spirit,
you give us a share
in your life and love.
Keep us firm in this faith,
and fill us with the vision of your glory,
that we may serve and praise you all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who is alive and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Opening Hymn of Praise

Holy, holy, holy (MP 237)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Imap-gfKWD4

1  Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!

    early in the morning our song shall rise to You;

Holy, holy, holy! – merciful and mighty,

God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

2  Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore You,

    casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;

cherubim and seraphim falling down before You,

which was, and is, and evermore shall be.

3  Holy, holy, holy! – though the darkness hide You,

    though the eye of sinful man Your glory may not see;

only You are holy, there is none beside You,

perfect in power, in love, and purity.

4  Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!

all Your works shall praise Your name, in earth, and sky, and sea:

Holy, holy, holy! – merciful and mighty,

God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Confession

Our heavenly Father
thank you that you love us
and care for us all the time.
We know that this week
we have not always lived the way you tell us.
We have done wrong things
and not done all the good things we should have done.
Only you can save us,
so please forgive us
and help us to live as your friends.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.

Amen

Silence

We are but sometime sinners and ragged saints,
Help us to be renewed and refreshed once more, to rejoice again in You,
To live every day as a step forward,
Living our lives always in Your light,
And to spark that light to shine again in your Church and among the nations.

Father forgive us
through the death of Jesus, your Son,
and strengthen us to live in the power of
your Holy Spirit
today and every day.

Amen

Song

Holy is the Lord

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He

And together we sing

Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He

And together we sing
Everyone sing

Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory

It's rising up all around
It's the anthem of the Lord's renown

It's rising up all around
It's the anthem of the Lord's renown

And together we sing
Everyone sing

Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory

Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty, holy, holy
Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty, holy, holy
Holy, holy is the Lord Almighty, holy, holy

Prayer with and for the children

Life giver,

you know us,

even before we are born,

we long to know you more.

Nature lover,

your creative love is present

in the air we breathe,

the water we drink,

the earth we walk upon,

the breeze which cools us,

we long to be aware of you.

Soul saver,

you call us to you,

to serve in the world

and to help people in need,

we long to be your disciples.

May we always answer

when you call

and may we be ready

to go wherever you send us.

So be it.

Amen

Sermon

Song

I, the Lord of sea and sky
I, The Lord Of Sea And Sky,
I Have Heard My People Cry.
All Who Dwell In Dark And Sin,
My Hand Will Save.

I Who Made The Stars Of Night,
I Will Make Their Darkness Bright.
Who Will Bear My Light To Them?
Whom Shall I Send?

Here I Am Lord, Is It I, Lord?
I Have Heard You Calling In The Night.
I Will Go Lord, If You Lead Me.
I Will Hold Your People In My Heart.

I, The Lord Of Snow And Rain,
I Have Borne My People’s Pain.
I Have Wept For Love Of Them, They Turn Away.

I Will Break Their Hearts Of Stone,
Give Them Hearts For Love Alone.
I Will Speak My Word To Them
Whom Shall I Send?

Here I Am Lord, Is It I, Lord?
I Have Heard You Calling In The Night.
I Will Go Lord, If You Lead Me.
I Will Hold Your People In My Heart.

I, The Lord Of Wind And Flame
I Will Tend The Poor And Lame.
I Will Set A Feast For Them,
My Hand Will Save

Finest Bread I Will Provide,
Till Their Hearts Be Satisfied.
I Will Give My Life To Them,
Whom Shall I Send?

Here I Am Lord, Is It I, Lord?
I Have Heard You Calling In The Night.
I Will Go Lord, If You Lead Me.
I Will Hold Your People In My Heart.

Prayer of Dedication

Who are we Lord, that you care for us?
We often doubt that we can receive your love
and we struggle at times to accept your love.
Lord, you have generously given us so much already
and we are thankful for all of it.
We offer some of it back to you now
but knowing that we dedicate our whole selves to you.
Take and use the money, service and time we offer
for the building of your kingdom, here and now.

Amen

Prayers of  Intercession

Our Holy God, Creator of all things, you have revealed yourself as the One true God, and through your Holy Scriptures, you have preserved for us the story of your eternal love and grace for humanity through the ages. In these you have shown yourself to be the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three persons in One God.

Heavenly Father, in your wisdom and love you created the world, and made humanity in your image. You have sustained this world and provided for all life, and through the ages you have blessed us with your provision, protection, care, and nurturing presence.

Jesus, our King, God’s Son, you have showered us with God’s grace and favor, and freed us from the tyranny of the evil one, and his desire to dominate the world and our very lives through the machinations of our sinful human hearts—our rebellion and our idolatry. You sacrificed your own life as “the Lamb that was slain” to free us from the tyranny of sin, death and the devil. You have not only freed us by your shed blood on the cross, but you have brought us into your Kingdom of grace and truth, and in your resurrection from the dead you have ushered your people into a new age of restoration and given us eternal life.

Holy Spirit, you are our nurturer and comforter. You bring truth and wisdom into our hearts and minds, and convict us when we stray from God’s way. You give strength and power to live as God’s people and to bear witness to the truth of Christ’s Way, his death for us, and his victory over the grave. You give us the capacity to love, forgive, and bear fruit in our lives that brings healing in this world and glory and honor to the Triune God.

On this Trinity Sunday, we ask that you would be glorified in us and in the lives of your people, Christ’s church all over the world, and that your salvation in him would be witnessed to by your people. May we bear the glory of your true presence within us, and may your grace, truth, and love be overflowing from our lips and our daily lives in the communities in which we live.

We pray that your voice would be heard through your own people throughout this nation and this world, that your truth would resound and abound, and give life and light. We pray against the lies of the enemy, lies that are bent on sowing confusion, hatred, and chaos in this God’s world. Though we know that for a time the evil one will be unshackled and “go out to deceive the nations” (Rev. 20:7-10) sowing chaos, discord, and hatred, we pray that we your people would stand firm in your truth and love. We pray that your light and glory would shine through us.

We also pray for your healing presence in our world, for those who are suffering the effects of disease, poverty, injustice, and war.

We lift up the many counties in the world that are currently struggling through new waves of the COVID pandemic. We pray for the government leaders in this nation and throughout the world who have a role to protect their people during this health crisis. Give them wisdom and the will to do what is necessary for the good of their people. We pray that vaccines and therapeutic treatments would become available to all, and that in places where those are not available, your special protection would abound. We also pray for special strength for the frontline healthcare workers whose efforts have helped so many, but who have been overwhelmed in many cases with great loss and trauma. Bring special strength and comfort to them as they work to bring healing and needed care. Please also give wisdom to the common people to be wise in our daily activities to prevent further spread of the virus.

We ask that you would protect and sustain the health of our church members and their families, wherever they may be. We also lift up those who we know to be injured or sick in body, mind, and soul that your healing presence and power in our Lord Jesus would touch each one…

Lord we thank you for the cease fire in the nation of Israel and that both sides would hold to their commitments to peace. We ask for justice where there has been injustice, that seeds of strife would not be able to grow back into violence, and that the desire for retribution and revenge would fade.

Lord we lift up the nations of Myanmar, Ethiopia, and other places where strife, violence, and injustice, have disrupted and touched the lives of many. Lord we lift up other situations we know about where neglect, injustice, sin and discord have hurt people we know and their families, asking you to bring comfort and restoration, and that you would heal and meet the needs of those experiencing pain and brokenness...

We continue to pray for Terry Muir, who is gravely ill and for his wife Phouang and young son, James. We also remember his sons and daughter back in the UK. We pray for Patrick, Andrew and Caireen. May your blessing and protection be upon them all and may they recognise and trust in the hope of glory made known in Jesus.

We ask Lord that along with the Prophet Isaiah, and Christ’s apostles, that you would send us to bring your words of life to those in darkness. Give us the words to say for each situation and person we meet. And though we know that your calling to be your representative may mean we suffer along with our Savior Jesus, may that suffering bring glory to you and to our Shepherd/Lamb. Strengthen your church for the works of service and love you have prepared for her to carry out.

And in all this, we set our hope on you and trust you to bring the renewal of all things that you have promised in King Jesus our Savior. Come, Lord, quickly and restore all things.

It’s in the name of Jesus, your Son, our Messiah we pray.

Amen

Now, let us join in the prayer our Lord himself taught us:

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

Amen

Closing Song

The Summons
Will you come and follow me
If I but call your name?
Will you go where you don't know
And never be the same?
Will you let my love be shown,
Will you let my name be known,
Will you let my life be grown
In you and you in me?

Will you leave yourself behind
If I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind
And never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare
Should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer prayer
In you and you in me?

Will you let the blinded see
If I but call your name?
Will you set the prisoners free
And never be the same?
Will you kiss the leper clean,
And do such as this unseen,
And admit to what I mean
In you and you in me?

Will you love the 'you' you hide
If I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside
And never be the same?
Will you use the faith you've found
To reshape the world around,
Through my sight and touch and sound
In you and you in me?

Lord, your summons echoes true
When you but call my name.
Let me turn and follow you
And never be the same.
In your company I'll go
Where your love and footsteps show.
Thus I'll move and live and grow
In you and you in me.

Prayer of Sending and Blessing
May the God of majesty and mystery,
fill you with awe and wonder;
may the God whom even seraphs worshipped,
guide you in the ways of holiness;
may the God who asks “who will go?”,
inspire you to cry, like the prophet:
“Here am I; send me!”
And, may the God who calls,
send you to live into your calling,
and bless you on your way,
now, and forever.
May God’s grace always enfold you.
May Jesus’ compassion always nourish you.
May the Spirit’s imagination always find a home in you.

And the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Love of God,
and the Commonwealth of the Holy Spirit,
be with us all,
evermore.
Amen

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
in the name of Christ.
Amen

Opening Hymn of Praise

Holy Spirit you are welcome here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zEiiZi2DKk

There's nothing worth more

That could ever come close

No thing can compare

You're our living hope

Your presence, Lord

I've tasted and seen

Of the sweetest of loves

Where my heart becomes free

And my shame is undone

Your presence, Lord

Holy Spirit, You are welcome here

Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere

Your glory, God, is what our hearts long for

To be overcome by Your presence, Lord

Your presence, Lord

There's nothing worth more

That could ever come close

No thing can compare

You're our living hope

Your presence, Lord

I've tasted and seen

Of the sweetest of loves

Where my heart becomes free

And my shame is undone

Your presence, Lord

Let us become more aware of Your presence

Let us experience the glory of Your goodness

A prayer of affirmation

May our need for blessing bring us into the nearer presence of the Comforter God,
Sender of the Spirit, and Spirit.
May our weakness be filled by strength from beyond our own resources because we try to follow Jesus’ way in faith and commitment.
So, when we try to do the right thing, we are reminded that Spirit works for good through our lives all along.
When we muster all our courage in the face of our fears, the Spirit calms the fears of the world all along.
When we wake up tomorrow and do not relish that day, the Spirit is ahead of us walking through the cool of the evening with the troubles of the day vanquished all along.
We offer these prayers in the name of Jesus Christ, who promised that Spirit to his disciples.

Amen

Prayer of Dedication

As you gift your Spirit, Lord,
may our gifts return to you
in wisdom
in knowledge
in faith
in healing
may we always celebrate
and share all your gifts
here and everywhere,
now and forever
Alleluia.

Amen

Prayers of  Intercession

Lord God,
we thank you that when we grieve
and find it hard to pray,
when we cannot find the words,
your Spirit intercedes,
with groans too deep for words.
Spirit intercede for us now.

Sometimes we lose heart
at all the suffering we witness,
both near and far,
but may we always see you
wherever your children suffer,
wherever the earth cries out in anguish.

You, the God of all creation,
tear open the heavens
and dwell among your people.
Give us courage
to go into all the places you already are.

Remind us that nothing done
in the name of love is ever wasted
and that all that we do
for the least of these,
we do for you.

We pray for your healing
for all of creation.
We pray for unity in your church
so that, together with you,
we may heal the world.

We pray for all who lead
and give wise counsel.
May they lead with justice and compassion,
and build on a foundation of love.

And we pray for all whom we know,
struggling this day—
with loss,
with disappointment,
with illness,
with bereavement,
with lack of hope and purpose.
In a moment of silence we remember people and situations on our hearts now...

We include in our prayers today particularly the ongoing global Covid19 Pandemic, the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and we also continue to pray for Terry Muir, who is gravely ill and for his wife Phouang and young son, James. We also remember his sons and daughter back in the UK. We pray for Patrick, Andrew and Caireen. May your blessing and protection be upon them all and may they recognise and trust in the hope of glory made known in Jesus.

Spirit of God,
blow change through our hearts,
our lives,
our world.
Your kingdom come
on earth as in heaven.

Amen

Now, let us join in the prayer our Lord himself taught us:

Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.

Amen

Closing Song

Jesus hope of the nations
Jesus, hope of the nations
Jesus, comfort for all who mourn
You are the source of Heaven's hope on earth

Jesus, light in the darkness
Jesus, truth in each circumstance
You are the source of Heaven's light on earth

In history You lived and died
You broke the chains, You rose to life

You are the hope living in us
You are the rock in whom we trust
You are the light shining for all the world to see

You rose from the dead conquering fear
Our Prince of Peace drawing us near
Jesus our hope, living for all who will receive
Lord, we believe

Jesus, hope of the nations
Jesus, comfort for all who mourn
You are the source of Heaven's hope on earth

Jesus, light in the darkness
Jesus, truth in each circumstance
You are the source of Heaven's light on earth

Prayer of Sending and Blessing
Sisters and brothers in Christ,
go into the world.
Realise the visions.
Fulfil the dreams.
See new visions.
Dream new dreams.
And as you do,
know that the Holy Spirit
is guiding you and encouraging you
every step of the way
And the blessing of God Almighty,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
be with us all,
now and always.
Amen

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
in the name of Christ.
